A wonderfully preserved vintage Japanese cordial set, circa 1950s–1960s, comprising six petite glasses in assorted jewel and pastel tones presented together in their original fitted case. The original paper label identifies the set as “Art. No. 321/1 – Cordial Set – Made in Japan,” giving us unusually useful surviving provenance for this charming example of postwar Japanese export barware.

CONDITION

FROM THE HOUSE

There is something particularly satisfying about finding an old bar set that has managed to remain together—six glasses, six colors, the fitted case, and even the wonderfully matter-of-fact Japanese article label still where it belongs. These were made for the small after-dinner pour, and the jewel-box presentation gives them considerably more character than their size might suggest.
