Schwarzburg Germany Pink Rose Two-Tier Appetizer Serving Dish
DESCRIPTION
A vintage Schwarzburg Germany two-tier porcelain appetizer server: a wide floral plate with a matching raised bowl on a flared pedestal. Soft pink and white roses sit among green leaves on a creamy ground, with a thin gold-gilt rim on both tiers. The green underside mark reads Schwarzburg beneath a crest. Built for hors d'oeuvres — dip or olives in the upper bowl, crackers or crudités around the plate.
WORTH NOTING
Two-piece porcelain construction: the smaller bowl lifts on its own pedestal and sits at the center of the larger plate. Hand-decorated rose clusters appear inside the upper bowl and in three groups around the lower plate. No lid or finial.
MEASUREMENTS
Lower plate approximately 9.5" to 10.5" across; raised appetizer bowl about 4.5" to 5" across; overall height about 4" to 4.5" including the pedestal. Photo-estimated from the gallery, including the gloved-hand scale shot.
CONDITION
Pre-owned vintage porcelain in good presentation. Gloss and floral color remain bright. Gold rims show light wear in places; the unglazed foot ring has typical shelf wear, and a couple of pinpoint spots appear on the upper rim. No obvious chips or cracks in the photographs. Review every photo for the mark, rims, and decoration.
STYLE NOTES
A romantic German floral server for cocktail hour, tea tables, or a china cabinet — pink roses and gold trim without the formality of a full dinner service.
